Bristol Psych Fest 2017: Preview

Saturday is set be Bristol’s biggest psych happening yet. The festival started four years ago at the Stag And Hounds, then moved to the Crofters Rights and now it’s taking to Trinity centre.

Headlining are legendary garage punks from Detroit The Gories; as influential as The Cramps or The Velvet Underground but still going strong, they are a must see for any fans of primitive rock n roll. There is a wealth of garage, surf and psychedelic goodness to be found on the bill with renowned acts such as Ron Gallo and Portland band The Shivas, as well as newer names like Abjects and Dead Coast who are making quite a splash in the scene.

This year’s festival is undoubtedly the most eclectic yet; with bands from Bristol’s incredibly inventive Bloom Collective such as The Evil Usses and Yama Warashi. The lineup wouldn’t be complete without local noise legends Spectres who have been touring the world and often headlining festivals themselves. Another we’re obviously dead excited for is Lice, a band fast notching up national attention.

As well as catching all these we can’t wait to kick back in the Trinity Centre’s beautiful garden, complete with DJ’s, artwork, great food stalls and multiple bars.

Tickets are still available here.
