The dreamy duo Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile will be heading out to North America on tour this fall. The announcement of a new collaboration LP later this year brings together two sparky eyed musicians set to give the attendees an unusual evening.
The shows will feature material off the pair’s upcoming album but with both artists having a decent backlog of their own it’s set to bring some new twists to the classics. Not surprisingly they are both very busy people, and the album ended up being recorded in eight days spread over fifteen months when Courtney and Kurt’s touring schedules allowed for them to be in the same place at the same time. Matador Records, Marathon Artists and Milk! Records will all team up to release the record.
If Courtney and Kurt weren’t enough to get your senses tingling, the backing band for the tour ‘The Sea Lice’ is not just any old backing band. Formed by musicians including Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Wild Flag), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Rob Laakso (The Violators, The Swirlies, Mice Parade) and Katie Harkin (Harkin, Sky Larkin and touring member of Sleater-Kinney and Wild Beasts), the performances of the album are sure to be on point.
Tickets go on sale Friday 9th June.
